If your roof has sustained hail damage and needs to be replaced, it is likely that your insurance claim will also include gutter replacement in Colorado Springs. Gutters come in a variety of materials, including aluminum, galvanized steel, vinyl, and copper.
If the gutters are being replaced as part of an insurance claim, Storm Guard will complete the roof replacement prior to performing the gutter installation. The most prevalent gutters in the Pikes Peak Region are the seamless gutters, made with aluminum coil that is formed on-site to the dimensions of the house, using a gutter machine. The gutter downspouts are prefabricated in various lengths, then cut to the desired length as part of the gutter installation and fitted to the gutters. The gutter material is available in a variety of prefinished colors or can be painted, if necessary, to match your house trim colors. You can review the gutter colors that are available at this website https://lansingbp.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/COSP-Mastic-gutter-stocking-flyer.pdf
Most gutters in our area are 5” gutters and are mated to 2”x3” downspouts. If you have a large roof area or a steep roof, then it may be a good idea to have 6” gutters with 3”x4” downspouts installed. The 6” gutters can handle about 50% more water than the standard 5” gutters.
Copper is a popular choice for gutters at the high-end of the market and usually cost about 3 times as much as a seamless aluminum gutter. A copper gutter system will “patina” over time, quickly losing it initial shiny copper color and gradually transitioning to a greenish color.
If your house is surrounded by trees, gutter guards may be of interest to you. Gutter guards keep leaves and other debris out of your gutters, eliminating the possibility of clogs within the gutter system. Storm Guard installs several different styles of gutter guard and would be happy to discuss the options with you.
